According to an announcement from UTVGuide.net, SSV Works has expanded its audio lineup with a new 10-inch subwoofer kit tailored specifically for the Polaris XPEDITION platform. Designed to fit 2024 through 2026 models, this system is engineered to solve the common issue of finding reliable, high-performance audio that can survive the rigors of trail riding.
The primary advantage of this new kit is its vehicle-specific design. Unlike universal subwoofer boxes that often require complex fabrication or compromise interior space, the SSV Works unit installs directly under the rear driver-side seat. The installation process is designed to be straightforward, requiring no cutting or modifications to the vehicle's factory layout.
Durability is a core feature of the enclosure. Constructed from high-strength rotomolded material, the housing is built to withstand the constant vibrations, moisture, and dust characteristic of off-road environments. This is a significant departure from standard automotive audio equipment, which is typically not designed to handle the extreme conditions found in a UTV.
Beyond structural integrity, the system utilizes a ported enclosure design. This choice is critical for trail audio, as it increases efficiency at lower power levels and provides deeper, more impactful bass in an open-cab environment compared to traditional sealed boxes. By moving more air, the enclosure allows the included 10-inch subwoofer to deliver high-quality sound without being pushed to its limits.
The subwoofer itself is rated at 1000 watts peak and 500 watts RMS. With a 2-ohm impedance and a frequency response ranging from 40 Hz to 1.5 kHz, the component is tuned to provide consistent performance across various riding conditions. SSV Works, a Utah-based company with over 45 years of experience in the audio industry, continues to focus on manufacturing complete, purpose-built systems for major UTV manufacturers.
