King of the Hammers (KOH) is widely considered the most unforgiving testing ground in off-road motorsports. According to a report by UTV Action Magazine, the 2026 event served as a definitive turning point for OBOR Racing, as the brand moved beyond simple participation to establish itself as a serious competitive force.
The centerpiece of OBOR’s 2026 campaign was the introduction of the 35-inch Kevlar-reinforced RocScraper Competition Spec tire. Engineered specifically to tackle the sharp granite and brutal climbs of Johnson Valley, this tire was designed to address the common issue of sidewall failure under heavy loads. Drivers like Dustin Robbins of AllThingz UTV reported that the reinforced construction allowed for more aggressive driving, as the tires could withstand lower pressures and technical rock impacts without the hesitation often caused by fear of equipment failure.
In a historic move for the brand, OBOR also entered the premier 4400 Unlimited Race of Kings. By putting their 37x10R15 RocScraper tires on vehicles with massive horsepower and unlimited suspension travel, they sought to validate their engineering in the most demanding environment possible. Robert Liebel, one of the drivers in the 4400 class, noted that the tires handled the extreme side-loading and sharp impacts of the race without incident, proving that the technology could withstand the rigors of the sport's highest tier.
The brand's presence was felt throughout the entire event, with 15 teams running the RocScraper platform. Performance highlights reported by UTV Action Magazine include a 4th overall finish for Dustin Robbins in the Can-Am UTV Championship, a 1st place in Pro Stock Turbo for Kurt Mackie, and a 4th place in Pro Mod for Shabs Piercy. These results, combined with their expansion into the 4400 class, demonstrate that OBOR is successfully transitioning from a challenger to a top-tier contender in the off-road industry.
