The 2026 King of the Hammers UTV race delivered a day of intense competition and unexpected twists in Johnson Valley. According to UTV Action Magazine, the race, which started at 8:00 AM, immediately threw competitors into a cloud of dust.
Brock Heger initially grabbed the holeshot, leading the pack until a rear axle failure on the infamous Jack Hammer trail allowed Ronnie Anderson to overtake him. However, Anderson's lead was short-lived; a wrong turn near Hamertown after his first lap resulted in his disqualification.
The challenging course took its toll on several other prominent racers. Paul Wolf and Phil Blurton both suffered race-ending damage after hitting the same obstacle. Kyle Chaney and Hunter Miller experienced steering problems, forcing them out of contention. Cody Miller also faced issues, further thinning the field of frontrunners. Hunter Miller finished outside the top 25.
Cole Clark and Jeff Martin managed to maintain clean races, ultimately finishing ahead of Heger. Jeremy McGrath continued his success in the Pro Stock N/A class, securing another win with the Kawasaki Teryx KRX1000 Rock Edition and finishing in the overall top 10.
