CJ Greaves continues to solidify his legacy in the off-road world, recently celebrating an impressive milestone of 200 short-course wins. According to reports from Dirt Wheels Magazine, Greaves' success is driven by a meticulous approach to vehicle setup, particularly with his Polaris RZR platforms. His career, which began on mini-bikes at age 2.5, has evolved into a dominant force across multiple disciplines, including the Championship Off-Road series and the grueling King of the Hammers (KOH).
For the KOH desert circuit, Greaves Motorsports builds a Pro R designed for extreme durability and terrain adaptability. The vehicle features a custom-fabricated cage, radiator relocation, and high-clearance suspension components. A key feature of this build is the use of Fox RAD QSE sway-bar links, which allow the suspension to lock for high-speed desert stability and unlock for traversing rock obstacles. Protection is prioritized with Factory UTV skid plates and Greaves-fabricated vented CV plates.
In contrast, the short-course builds—specifically the Pro Stock RZR XP—are engineered for precision and agility. Greaves Motorsports lowers the chassis by 6–8 inches to achieve a lower center of gravity. These builds prioritize weight reduction through a single-seat configuration and custom-fabricated nerf bars. While the KOH machines utilize larger 35-inch tires for ground clearance, the short-course machines run 27-inch Hoosier tires to maximize handling and consistency on groomed tracks.
Greaves' technical setup relies on data-driven adjustments. He utilizes Aim UTV data loggers to monitor performance, while the mechanical tuning is handled in-house by the Greaves Motorsports team, often paired with Factory Polaris Racing ECU calibrations. From his early days as the youngest racer to win a Super Buggy championship to his recent Pro SxS titles, Greaves remains a benchmark for professional off-road vehicle development.
