According to a report from ATV.com, Honda has officially commenced production of the 2026 Pioneer 1000 Deluxe at its South Carolina Manufacturing (SCM) facility in Timmonsville. The milestone event was attended by 700 employees and associates who gathered at the 850,000-square-foot plant to witness the first units of the updated side-by-side roll off the assembly line.
The 2026 model year marks a significant refresh for Honda's popular utility-recreation vehicle. Among the most notable mechanical updates is the transition from a traditional throttle-by-cable system to a modern throttle-by-wire setup, a change intended to improve engine response and control. Furthermore, the Deluxe trim introduces the Pro-Connect modular cargo bed, providing owners with increased versatility for hauling and work-related tasks.
Development of the Pioneer 1000 was a collaborative effort across Honda's North American operations, with design and development originating from teams in Georgia and Ohio. While parts are sourced globally and domestically, the final assembly remains a point of pride for the South Carolina team.
Travis Lee, SCM Site Lead, highlighted the importance of the launch during the event. "The product we are celebrating today represents the next chapter of our side-by-side business, and once again that chapter is being written right here in Timmonsville," Lee stated. He further emphasized that the new model is a reflection of the discipline and collaboration required to maintain Honda's global standards for safety and quality.
For those eager to get behind the wheel, Honda has confirmed that deliveries of the 2026 Pioneer 1000 Deluxe are slated to begin in May. With the production lines now active, the company aims to meet the anticipated demand for these refined off-road machines.
