Located near St. George, Utah, the trail to Toquerville Falls has become a staple for regional off-road enthusiasts. According to Jon Crowley of UTVGuide.net, the journey offers a unique blend of high-desert scenery and refreshing water features, culminating in a picturesque waterfall on La Verkin Creek.
For those planning an excursion, the area offers two primary access routes. The choice of trail often depends on the vehicle's capabilities and the current weather conditions. While one route is generally accessible to SUVs, those seeking a more traditional UTV experience often gravitate toward the technical path through Rattlesnake Gulch.
The Rattlesnake Gulch Experience
The 6.4-mile trail through Rattlesnake Gulch is noted for its technical difficulty. It winds through the canyon and follows the path of La Verkin Creek. A defining characteristic of this route is the frequency of water crossings; riders should expect to navigate the creek at least 20 times. In some sections, the trail actually follows the creek bed itself.
Safety is a critical consideration for this route. As noted by UTVGuide.net, these crossings can become hazardous during the spring thaw or following significant rainfall. If the water is deep or moving rapidly, the trail is not recommended for passage.

Alternative Access and Overlooks
For riders looking for a less technical experience, an easier route is available. This path avoids the most extreme creek crossings found on the Rattlesnake Gulch trail. During a spring 2025 excursion, Crowley opted for this route while driving a Polaris RANGER Kinetic, citing the desire to avoid deep water crossings in an electric vehicle.
Regardless of the route, the region offers notable landmarks. The radio tower overlook provides a vantage point for riders to take in the surrounding landscape, offering a different perspective on the canyon terrain before heading down to the falls.
