According to a report by Jeff Henson for Dirt Wheels Magazine, CFMOTO recently unveiled its 2027 Gen4 ATV lineup in Nice, France. The new series—comprising the C4, C5, and C6—serves as a complete replacement for the outgoing CFORCE 400, 500, and 600 models. This launch signals a strategic shift for the brand, moving away from being perceived solely as a value-based manufacturer toward becoming a direct competitor to premium 4x4 brands.
During the global press event at Domaine de Sigalous, attendees tested the machines across varied terrain, including mud, technical rock sections, and steep climbs, as well as practical work scenarios like towing and plowing. The consensus from the initial ride suggests that CFMOTO has prioritized refinement and capability over simple cost-cutting.
A major focus of the Gen4 platform is ergonomics. CFMOTO engineers redesigned the engine layout to be slimmer, which reportedly reduces the gap between footwells by approximately 30 percent. This change is intended to improve hip and knee comfort for the rider. Additionally, the C6 model benefits from a 48-inch wide stance, enhancing stability during aggressive trail riding. The brand also moved to high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for its body panels, opting for impact-resistant material over traditional paint.
Performance remains a headline feature, particularly for the C6. With a 647cc, DOHC, single-cylinder engine, the C6 produces 54 horsepower and 42.0 lb-ft of torque. According to Dirt Wheels, this output positions the C6 at the top of its class, outpacing competitors like the Can-Am Outlander 700. The suspension system, which includes piggyback reservoirs and adjustable settings, provides a composed, sport-tuned ride, effectively managing trail chop and technical obstacles.
While U.S. pricing and final regional specifications remain unconfirmed, CFMOTO indicated that the machines will likely remain competitively priced despite the inclusion of premium features like power steering and locking front differentials as standard equipment. The company is expected to announce the final U.S. lineup details by the end of summer 2026.
