Kawasaki has officially introduced its 2027 MULE SX lineup, maintaining the brand's commitment to compact, heavy-duty utility vehicles. According to reports from UTV Action Magazine, the new model year continues to emphasize the MULE's reputation as a reliable workhorse, borrowing design aesthetics from the more robust MULE PRO series to provide a familiar yet compact experience.

Performance and Utility

At the heart of every 2027 MULE SX is a 401cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine. While these machines are built for utility rather than speed, they provide substantial capability for their size, including a towing capacity of 1,100 pounds. The inclusion of a steel cargo bed with a textured floor ensures that the vehicle remains functional for hauling supplies on job sites or around the farm.

One of the standout features of the MULE SX remains its compact dimensions. Designed to fit easily into the bed of a standard full-size pickup truck, these side-by-sides are highly portable for owners who need to transport their equipment between different locations.

Model Variations and Availability

Kawasaki offers the 2027 lineup in several configurations to meet diverse user needs. Buyers can choose from entry-level two-wheel-drive models or step up to the more capable 4x4 variants. Notably, some 4x4 models are equipped with digital fuel injection (DFI), which is generally considered more user-friendly for starting and altitude adjustments compared to the traditional carbureted engines found on other models in the series, such as the 4x4 ST.

The lineup includes:

  • MULE SX (2WD): Available in Timberline Green and Bright White ($7,799).
  • MULE SX 4x4: Available in Timberline Green and Bright White ($9,199).
  • MULE SX 4x4 ST: Carbureted model in Timberline Green ($8,599).
  • MULE SX 4x4 XC: Available in Metallic Sierra Blue ($9,499).
  • MULE SX 4x4 XC LE: Available in Metallic Onyx Black ($10,699).

All models are slated for a Summer 2026 release. Furthermore, Kawasaki reinforces its confidence in the build quality of these machines by backing the entire 2027 MULE SX family with a 3-Year Limited Factory Warranty.
